At Southeastern, it’s our goal to provide students with opportunities to take their learning beyond the reach of our campus. From faculty-led short-term trips to semester and yearlong experiences, there’s sure to be a program that will fit your unique interests and career goals.

Sift through thousands of years of history as you participate in a two or four week archeological dig. Learn how to identify ancient artifacts and possibly uncover what is thought to be ancient Bethsaida.

Term: Summer

Step back in time and explore the battlefields of Europe. Explore the cities of Amsterdam, Bastogne, Reims, Normandy, Paris, and Versailles to gain a deeper understanding of European war history.

Term: Spring

During an exciting 12-week study abroad experience, make an impact on local communities while also earning an 18-credit hour minor in community development and poverty alleviation.

Term: Fall and Spring

Learn to think, write, and speak creatively about works of literature, art, architecture, music, and artifacts while traveling in London and quaint rural cities.

Term: Summer

Learn the rich history of medicine by traveling through England with other nursing students. Visit locations such as the Florence Nightingale Museum, the Royal College of Nursing, and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Term: J-term and Spring Break

Gain remarkable insight into the significance of the lands, languages, and cultures of the Bible and the impact they have on understanding both ancient Judaism as well as the Christian faith. Students will study the text of Scripture within its historical, geographical, and cultural context in addition to interacting with world-renowned scholars including archaeologists and historians. Term: Summer

Let the world of the Bible come alive while studying on-site in Israel. Learn about the life of Jesus while visiting historical sites such as Mt. Carmel, the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Temple Mount. Earn college credit as this experience enhances your biblical knowledge academically, spiritually, and socially.

Term: Spring

What better places to practice photography than in locations such as Rome, Florence, Venice, Sorrento, and Pompeii? Experience Italy through a camera lens while earning course credits in photojournalism.

Term: Summer

Earn a full ten credits while learning Spanish and experiencing the Nicaraguan culture firsthand. There is no better way to learn a language than being fully immersed in it.

Term: Summer

Tour beautiful locations such as Madrid, Barcelona, Segovia, and Lisbon while earning credits for cross-cultural leadership. Take the classroom outside and enjoy the Iberian Peninsula while appreciating and engaging with the rich culture of Spain and Portugal.

Term: Summer

Spend a semester in Bangkok while learning to speak Thai. Learn about missions in Southeast Asia and apply practical skills in a local internship of your choice. Classes are offered in a hybrid format of face-to-face courses and online courses provided through Southeastern.

Term: Fall and Spring semester

Study the Pauline letters, the seven churches of Revelation, and the spread of Christianity and Judaism in the first century. Take the classroom to locations such as Corinth, Ephesus, Laodicea, and Rome to better understand and interpret the Bible in a new way. Visit holylandsstudies.org.
