Authentic relationships are critical to real spiritual growth, and we put a priority on creating environments where those relationships are developed and nurtured. This happens through informal meetings between students and faculty, residence hall chapels and Bible studies, and structured events such as our Connect mentorship program and First Year Experience small groups.

We want students to leave SEU with lifelong friendships with other students that will serve as encouragement as they walk through life.

Nearly 100 faculty and staff members serve as Connect mentors each semester.

Mentorship Connections

We also want students to get to know and be known by our faculty and staff, who have wisdom and experiences they are willing to share with students to help them grow in their faith and succeed in their careers. Connect Groups fulfill that purpose, giving students the opportunity to meet with one faculty or staff member for 10 weeks each semester in a small-group setting that can include Bible study, prayer, life stories and group activities such as paintball, dinner, movies or sporting events.

“Our faculty and staff are really passionate about discipleship and pouring into the lives of students."
