First Year Experience

Our First Year Experience program helps set first-year students on the path toward discovering their divine design and integrates them into college life and our community. All first-year students are automatically enrolled into the First Year Experience programming. In order to be exempt from the First Year Experience programming, students must meet two requirements: the student is born before August 1, 1997, and is transferring in a minimum of 28 credit hours.

Core Values & CCU

Students start learning these core values in our Christ, Culture and the University (CCU) course, which is required for all incoming freshman.

Academic Excellence – We see the classroom as a sacred space.

Discipleship – We are committed to becoming whole-life followers of Christ and being reformed in His image.

Community – We appreciate our shared values, diversity of thought and connectedness to each other.

Consistency – We strive to be a steady presence in the midst of chaos.

Gracious Living – We value others more than self.

“I came to Southeastern not wanting to leave my family and wondering how I would fit in. When I heard about Family Dinner, I was skeptical about going, but my roommate and friends convinced me to sign up. It was so nice sitting around a table with other students who were in the same boat as me. I left that night making real connections with other students and with a sense of family. Southeastern has become my family!”
