All hurricane and tornado watches and warnings have expired. Please be mindful of possible thunderstorms between 3:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m.

Hurricane Hermine has made landfall and is now downgraded to a tropical storm moving through south Georgia. We have assessed the campus and have not observed any damage or hazards.
Locally, we are expecting scattered showers throughout the day with possible thunderstorms mainly before 11:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.. Weather conditions could produce heavy rain with winds between 16-20 mph and gusts up to 26 mph.
Southeastern’s offices are open and operational. Students may move in on Saturday, September 3, as scheduled. Please see below for more information if you wish to delay your arrival to campus.
Please take caution as you drive to avoid road hazards.

We are currently monitoring the situation with Hurricane Hermine. The campus is open and operational. Our area, Polk County, is under a Tornado Watch (tornados are possible), as of 3 p.m. until 11 p.m., September 1, 2016.

- About 180 miles west-southwest of Cedar Key, Florida, or about 170 miles west of the mouth of Tampa Bay
- 27.8N, 85.6W
- Storm intensity 75 mph
- Movement north-northeast or 30 degrees at 14 mph
Evening classes scheduled for Thursday, September 1, will be held as scheduled.
