Forum for Business Welcomes Jimmy Collins

Southeastern University will host Jimmy Collins, former president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A, Inc., during our Forum for Business on Thursday, September 29, 2016. The hour-long workshop is geared toward business leaders.

Collins uses personal illustrations and stories to tell how he discovered and used his “Creative Followership Principles” for a successful and satisfying 32-year career of service. Before joining Chick-fil-A, he operated a food service consulting business. He also designed the forerunners of the Chick-fil-A stores and the first Chick-fil-A mall restaurant in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Mall in 1967.

“The lesson Jimmy Collins learned very early in his career about the importance of serving your company is an important one for our students to hear about firsthand. To be an effective servant leader, you first need to be a servant follower. Jimmy Collins is the very embodiment of this Christian model,” said Dr. Lyle Bowlin, dean of the Jannetides College of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership.

The event will take place at 7:30 a.m. at our Lakeland campus. This event is $25 and will include a breakfast buffet. Participants will also receive a copy of Collins’s book, Creative Followership. Register online or call 877.367.8670.
