Kent Ingle – Presidents’ Alliance

SEU is pleased to announce that our President, Kent Ingle, is one of the founding members of the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration.

The Alliance was officially launched on December 12, 2017, by over two dozen American higher education leaders across the United States. The Alliance will address issues at the intersection of education and immigration.

The Alliance is a collective effort to improve how colleges and universities address immigration-related matters affecting their campuses. It will support adoption of best practices on campuses, and work in a unified manner to communicate the need for federal and state policies that create a welcoming environment for immigrant, undocumented, and international students. The Alliance is committed to serving all students who seek to better themselves and their communities through education.

“A presidential Alliance on immigration can amplify our collective voice as we represent the needs and interests of the students in our educational institutions at the national level,” said Ingle. “The Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration is imperative to provide our students the support they need through being a part of shaping this national conversation.”

The founding group of institutions included Princeton University, Harvard University and George Washington University. The Alliance’s founding statement, steering committee, founding presidents and membership information can be found at presidentsimmigrationalliance.org.
