Empower Their Story — #GivingTuesday
Giving Tuesday takes place each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It grew from similar ideas as Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, as a way to start off the holiday season. Giving Tuesday was originally created in 2012 and intends to inspire kindness to others through the endeavor of giving back.
This year, SEU is celebrating Giving Tuesday by sharing the many powerful ways that our students serve others all year long.
The heart of service
An iconic figure on SEU’s campus is a fountain with a statue in the center called the Divine Servant. The statue depicts the gospel story of Jesus Christ washing His disciples’ feet and serves as a reminder to take care of one another.
Southeastern University uses this example of servant leadership to set our students up for success with academic and practical knowledge in their fields of study. Through the embodiment of the Southeastern University experience, we also empower them with the drive to serve others. From missions to community service to starting nonprofits; and from the classroom to the boardroom to every corner of the world, our students and alumni are always finding ways to shine Christ’s light through acts of service.
In order to continue empowering these stories, we offer our students opportunities to apply for a variety of scholarships. These are funded in part through a general scholarship fund. The impact on students who receive these scholarships goes beyond financial support. The donations that make these scholarships possible provide the opportunity for Southeastern University to equip and elevate our future community leaders.
It is because of generous partners like you that we can impact the future of our students, who in return impact our community and the world. By giving to Southeastern University and supporting our general scholarship fund, you invest not only in the life of a student at Southeastern but in the future of our communities. In honor of Giving Tuesday, please consider joining us to empower the call in our students’ lives by making a contribution on our Giving page.
