Hello SEU Community,

This summer, our nation and community started to recognize that there needs to be a change in society in regards to our relationship with minority communities. As a community, I believe we all have a role to play in moving toward the dream of an equitable and just society.

That’s why we have embarked on a listening process—and the only way we will push forward is by listening to the experiences of our fellow African-American community members. I know that for the good of our SEU community, we must take the time to combat ignorance through dialogue.

In this video, we engage in a conversation with our associate vice president of community relations and students from our campus. I encourage you to listen as they share their experiences from being a part of our community.

My prayer is that as we continue to listen to the experiences of others, we can develop new and creative solutions to ensure that all students in our community have equal access to the opportunity to discover and develop the destiny God has for them.
