Social Work Students Visit the Capitol

On February 1 and 2, junior and senior social work majors traveled to Tallahassee, Florida, to participate in the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Legislative Education and Advocacy Day. Forty-two students toured the governor’s mansion, attended House and Senate sessions and met with legislators to advocate for the most vulnerable citizens in Florida. The students were fortunate to participate in meet-and-greet sessions with┬áHouse Majority Leader Dana Young, House Majority Whip Colleen Burton and House Representative Jake Raburn.
