SEU Debate Win: Florida State Championship

SEU won the Florida State Championship for the second year in a row, beating rivals University of Florida, Florida State University and University of Central Florida. CBSS Mission Trip: Honduras

The College of Behavioral & Social Sciences participated in its first mission trip with 14 students and four faculty from the Department of Social Work. The group traveled to Compelled by Christ Ministries in Choloma, Honduras, February 11–16, where they served female survivors (11–19 years old) of sexual abuse, physical abuse and/or abandonment as well as raised funds to pay for the girls' school registrations, uniforms and school supplies. Social Work Students Visit the Capitol

On February 1 and 2, junior and senior social work majors traveled to Tallahassee, Florida, to participate in the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Legislative Education and Advocacy Day. Forty-two students toured the governor's mansion, attended House and Senate sessions and met with legislators to advocate for the most vulnerable citizens in Florida.
