Test Optional Policy

2021–2022 Academic Year

Due to the effects of the pandemic on standardized testing opportunities, SEU has pivoted to new methods for admission and determining scholarship amounts for the 2021–2022 school year.

SEU has moved to a test-optional policy for admission. SAT, ACT or CLT exam scores are not required for admission or to receive academic scholarship awards.

Students who submit scores may be eligible for an increase in their academic award amount, however, the submission of test scores will not negatively impact your academic award.

An SAT, ACT, or CLT score is not required for admission to SEU. You're weighted GPA will be used. Please visit our Admission Requirements page for a full list of items to be submitted with your application.

Scholarship Tiers

If you do not take the SAT or ACT, your weighted high school GPA will determine your scholarship tier for institutional aid (scholarships from SEU).

Test Scores

If you do take the test(s), a strong score will benefit your scholarship tier. Test scores will only be factored in if they help you reach a higher scholarship tier.

Test scores will be required for students seeking Bright Futures scholarship funds or for consideration for admission to the SEU School of Honors.
