Admission Checklist

Thank you for applying to Southeastern University! Your application is nearly ready to be reviewed by our admission team. Below are the required items you must submit in order to complete your admission profile, depending on whether you are a first-time, transfer, international or re-applicant student. Information is also provided at the bottom of the page on where to send your missing admission documents.

First-Year Students

  • Official High School Transcripts or GED Scores
  • College Transcripts – If applicable
This applies if college courses have been taken through dual enrollment or after graduation from high school, even if no credit was earned or grades received.
  • ACT or SAT I Scores – Must be official or on high school transcripts
When taking these tests, students can chose the colleges they wish to have scores sent to automatically upon completion of test. After the test, students can log in to the test website (collegeboard.org for the SAT,  ACT.org for the ACT, or CLTexam.com for the CLT) and have scores sent to colleges of their choosing.
  • Christian Character Reference
  • Required Essay – “Describe the beginning and present growth of your relationship with God and how you see yourself as a good match for Southeastern’s academic and spiritual environment.”

Transfers

  • Official High School Transcripts or GED Scores – if you have less than 60 college credit hours
  • Official Transcripts from Colleges/Universities Attended – even if no credit was earned or grades received (transcripts must be sent directly from the colleges)
  • Christian Character Reference
  • Required Essay – “Describe the beginning and present growth of your relationship with God and how you see yourself as a good match for Southeastern’s academic and spiritual environment.”

International Students

  • TOEFL Examination Scores – a required minimum score of 540–543 on the paper-based exam, 207 on the computer-based exam or 76 on the Internet-based exam
  • College Credit Hours from Foreign Universities – must be evaluated by an independent service for a fee (please contact the SEU Office of Admission for more information)
  • Requirements for Release of I-20 – must be received prior to enrollment, but not required for admission to the university (includes affidavit of financial support, statement from a financial institution verifying the amount of your deposited funds, payment in full for one semester, copies of passport and current visa, and F-1 transfer form for students transferring from another U.S. institution)

Re-Applicants

Re-applicants are students who were previously enrolled at SEU and attended classes, left for a year or longer and are now applying again. As these students previously completed the admission process, only a Christian character reference is required to be eligible for re-enrollment at Southeastern University.

*Please note that students wishing to reapply to SEU who have taken courses at another university after attending Southeastern must also provide updated transcripts to SEU from their other university.
