About This Degree
NILD Courses
This degree includes three NILD hybrid courses for certification (one course each summer for three consecutive summers), which each include four weeks of online instruction and required attendance in a one-week intensive of instruction on campus in Lakeland, Florida.Through this program, you will study:
- How to promote higher cognitive, academic, perceptual, and emotional functioning in students
- Psychological and educational assessment of students
- Oral language skills development
- Mediated learning experiences
- Qualitative and quantitative research in educational environments
- Historical and current practices of educating those with high incidence/high functioning disabilities (learning disabilities, high functioning ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia)
- Student assessment and the role it plays in effective teaching
- Individualized educational plans, programs, and lesson planning
Our NILD Educational Therapy® program’s challenging curriculum gives you the opportunity to actively participate and apply concepts you learn.
