Biography

After getting his bachelor’s degree, Saied Farisi immigrated to the United States to continue his education, translating and publishing numerous books and articles.

He received his B.F.A. in Design, then moved to California and worked in various design and entertainment firms in Los Angeles and Orange County while in graduate school at California State University of Fullerton. During his graduate studies, Professor Farisi began teaching as an adjunct faculty member at California State Fullerton University and Cal Poly Pomona. After receiving his M.F.A., he taught as an Assistant Professor at Cal Poly Pomona and then at San Diego State University before joining the faculty of Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates and Chapman University in California. In addition, he was accepted into a Ph.D. program at the Ozyegin University in Turkey.

Professor Farisi’s primary research interests complement each other. Recently, he has been researching a more effective and objective pedagogical methodology for creative fields, using language and linguistics as a base. His other research interests are Motion Design, Ux/Ui, App and 3D design, and constantly training himself in the most current technology.

He has done a comparative analysis of Latin and Persian/Arabic typography and typeface design, and is a practitioner “Tazhib,” a form of Islamic art, designing Persian rugs.

Finally, working as a freelance designer, he maintains his connections with the design industry, learning the most current trends. This benefits his students at Southeastern, where he teaches Fundamentals of Digital Design, Intro to Web Design & Development, Magazine Design & Production, Digital Layout & Design, Web Page Design, Advanced Digital Imaging, Advertising Design, Advanced Illustration, and Senior Capstone.
