Dr. Lucy B. Stella has taught at Southeastern University since 2013. Before coming to SEU, she worked at South University in Tampa and served in associate and baccalaureate degree nursing programs from Daytona Beach to Ft. Lauderdale. Dr. Stella also served two years as director of nursing for a private college in Ft. Lauderdale. She developed many online courses as the initial nursing courses for community colleges. Her clinical experience is mainly in ICU, oncology and emergency room nursing. She has also held positions as nurse manager and nurse educator beyond staff nursing in the hospital setting. Her doctoral work was on nursing simulation and student success.

When not in the classroom, she is very busy with her family, which includes her husband, Louis, 8 children, and 11 grandchildren. Dr. Stella is also very active in her home church, but now attends a non-denominational church with her husband on a regular basis. Dr. Stella is pleased to be at SEU, where administration, faculty, staff, and students alike follow God’s precepts.

Dr. Stella has been instrumental in developing several of the courses for the RN to BSN program as well as designing the high-fidelity Nursing Simulation Lab (NSL). She teaches several courses such as, but not exclusive to, Essentials of Pathophysiology and Faith Integration in Nursing.
