Dr. Lisa A. Coscia has been teaching at SEU since 2016. She serves as the Dual Chair of Undergraduate Programs for the College of Education and Unrestricted Education. With 24 years of experience in PreK through high school education, she is delighted to now serve in higher education at her alma mater.
Dr. Coscia and her family served as missionaries in Okinawa, Japan, where she worked as the Superintendent at Okinawa Christian School International. While living overseas, Dr. Coscia had the amazing opportunity to visit, participate in professional development training, and serve in Cambodia, Korea, Saipan, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines. She enjoys volunteering as a team member on school accreditation teams for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). With a love and passion for global education, travel, culture, and missions, she oversees the degree in Global Education Studies at SEU.
Prior to serving as a missionary in Japan, Dr. Coscia was the School Principal at Victory Christian Academy in Lakeland, Florida, from 2004–2011 and served as the Assistant Principal and Preschool Director from 1998–2004. Most of her teaching experience has been in the elementary and middle school grades in private Christian schools with some time in public education.
Her favorite scripture verse is, “But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you” (1 Samuel 12:24). Dr. Coscia has a heart to serve by modeling servant leadership while encouraging, equipping, and empowering others in the career field of education through ministry.
