Dr. Lisa A. Coscia joined the faculty at Southeastern University as Chair of Undergraduate Programs for the College of Education in July 2016. With 24 years of experience in education, she is delighted to return to her alma mater.
Most recently, Dr. Coscia and her family returned from living overseas in Okinawa, Japan where she served as the Superintendent at Okinawa Christian School International. With a love and passion for international travel, culture and missions, while living in Asia Dr. Coscia had the amazing opportunity to visit, train, and serve in Cambodia, Korea, Saipan, Thailand, Taiwan and the Philippines. She currently serves on the international accreditation team for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Prior to serving as a missionary in Japan, Dr. Coscia was the School Principal at Victory Christian Academy in Lakeland, Florida from 2004–2011 and also served as the Assistant Principal and Preschool Director from 1998–2004. The majority of her teaching experience has been in the elementary and middle school grades in private Christian schools with some time in public education.
All of the education and life experiences have been instrumental in orchestrating and responding to the call and career path that God had prepared for her. Most importantly, her heart is to serve through servant leadership while encouraging, equipping and empowering others. Her favorite scripture verse is, “Serve the Lord faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.” 1 Samuel 12:24
Dr. Coscia teaches courses in Southeastern’s bachelor’s, master’’s and doctoral programs for the College of Education.
