Dr. Jim Vigil began serving as an SEU professor and the director of the Doctor of Ministry Program in 2016. From 20012-2015, he served as lead pastor of Niagara Falls First Assembly and also as lead pastor and founder of the Bridge Church Planting Network of Western New York.
Prior to his ministry in New York, he invested seventeen years at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, serving as a professor, church ministries divisional chair, and vice president for student development. Before to moving to Springfield, Dr. Vigil was the lead pastor at First Assembly of God in Huntington Park, California and Clinical Chaplain at ULCA Medical Center in Los Angles, California. He also co-pastored a church plant in Denver, Colorado.
As an ordained minister, with over three decades of church ministry experience, Dr. Vigil has served churches in Florida, Colorado, Arizona, California, Missouri, New York, and Athens, Greece. Dr. Vigil’s MDiv and DMin were both in Christian Counseling. His dissertation was “A Biblical Theology of Marital Intimacy.” He is actively engaged in pastoral, marital, and pre-marital counseling. He and his wife have conducted marriage retreats throughout the nation. He has served as the WNY Sectional Church Planting Navigator, AG Marriage Encounter presenter as well as in a variety of other roles.
Having grown up in Colorado, Dr. Vigil is an avid Denver Broncos Fan.
