Dr. Gerry White and her husband met as students at Southeastern in 1965, starting their journey together that has continued for over 40 years. She returned with her husband to teach at Southeastern after many years on the mission field, beginning her full-time teaching career here in 1996. Between her time attending Southeastern and her time teaching at Southeastern, Dr. White served with her husband in the pastorates of two Assemblies of God churches and then received a foreign missionary appointment to southern Africa.

After returning to stateside ministry in 1984, Dr. White began the process of completing her education, finishing her BA and then adding three graduate degrees, the doctorate in 2007. Her hard work, innovative teaching techniques, and ministry experience help Dr. White challenge and train the next generation of ministers and missionaries. She states that she finds teaching at Southeastern exciting and fulfilling as she watches students grow in their understanding of God’s Word and its application to their daily lives and ministries.

Dr. White teaches a variety of courses including Old Testament Survey, Old Testament History, and Hermeneutics, and occasionally New Testament Survey and Hebrew Wisdom Literature. Her research interests include special topics in Old Testament studies and issues in ministerial career longevity.
