Professor Erica Novatka joined the faculty as a full-time member of the team in January 2018, having previously served as a clinical instructor since 2016. She worked with students in the critical care setting.

Professor Novatka has over 15 years of nursing experience. Prior to coming to SEU, she worked at Lakeland Regional Health as an administrative manager. She taught for several years at Florida Southern College. Her clinical experience primarily includes surgical and emergency room nursing. She is currently finishing her doctorate (DNP) in Adult/Geriatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina.

In her spare time, Professor Novatka enjoys spending time with her two children. She also volunteers at VISTE (Volunteers in Service to The Elderly) on a weekly basis.

Professor Novatka shares “I have been grateful to God who has helped me use my healing hands to care for, hold, and heal the patients I have cared for over the last 15 years.” She is enthusiastic about both teaching students and working with the elderly population.
