Dr. Daniel Gordon’s personal commitment to the proliferation of music programs in schools, communities and churches across America has included a 30-year career as an educator. After teaching for 15 years in the public schools of New York and Florida, he served as choral director and chair of music education at The Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, and director of vocal studies at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. Dr. Gordon also spent three seasons as musical director of the Ottawa Choral Society, where he collaborated with the National Arts Centre Orchestra under the direction of Pinchas Zukerman. Dr. Gordon is also the director of fine arts ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, where he works with choirs of all ages. He believes that, with God’s help, Southeastern is developing one of the most dynamic music programs in America.

Dr. Gordon teaches the following classes: Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Theory, Aural Theory, Conducting and various courses in music education. His research and performance interests are the teachings of music in urban schools, involvement with secondary schools choirs and different aspects of church music and traditional worship.
