BSN, Jacksonville University
Mrs. Amy Lewis began teaching at Southeastern University as a clinical instructor in 2018. In 2019, she joined the full-time nursing faculty as the Clinical Coordinator & SIM Lab Manager. She has diverse clinical experience as a Neurosurgical/trauma ICU nurse for 15 years, in addition to 10 years in case management, utilization review, and school nursing. She will complete her MSN in Nursing Education from Jacksonville University in January 2021. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and serves on the board for SEU’s chapter, Omega Chi.
Professor Lewis grew up in the mountains of Western Maryland and made a personal commitment to Christ at the age of 16. After graduating with her nursing degree in 1996, God called her to SEU as a student with a focus in Psychology and Biblical Studies.
She has been married to her husband, Shannon, also an SEU alumni, and they have three boys. Her oldest son is a traditional undergraduate student at SEU and her middle son attends Pathways School of Excellence, also on SEU’s campus. They are active in their home church, Victory Church, and in the community. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, swimming, and spending time with her family.
It is with great excitement that Professor Lewis continues to serve at SEU, stating, “it was a God moment” that brought her full circle from an SEU student to SEU faculty. She has long desired for SEU to have a nursing program, raising up future nurses to represent the hands and feet of Jesus while pursuing excellence in their profession.
