Learning Effectively
You'll find that online learning is very different from traditional, classroom-based learning. Most students enjoy the convenience and flexibility of online learning that allows you to study and complete assignments within an already busy schedule. Taking online courses may mean that you'll save time each week instead of driving to campus for classes. However, you must be careful to invest that time in smart ways to gain the benefit.
Online learning requires better time management, consistent organization and planning, and more self-direction than a traditional classroom-based course. You will communicate with your instructor and classmates online, so you must develop the habit of checking your SEU webmail daily, logging on to Blackboard daily, and doing some course work every day.
This section of the Online Student Orientation provides suggestions that will help you be successful in all your online coursework.
