Student Life

From the moment you step on campus, you'll be welcomed into the Southeastern community through our First Year Experience program. Your First Year Experience will introduce you Southeastern's Christ-centered approach to spirituality, academics, and relationships, an approach that influences every aspect of student life.

Designed to give you a well-rounded perspective on university life, you'll enroll in our Christ, Culture and University class. Also, the First Year Experience will partner you with fellow new students as well as an upperclassman that is dedicated to investing in your spiritual and academic life through spontaneous events and small group reviews of material from the Christ, Culture, and University course.

As you learn how God fits into your university experience, you'll have countless opportunities to explore areas of faith, missions, talents, and service.

As powerful worship music reverberates through the room and challenging sermons grip your heart, our chapel services will shape your spirituality.

Each semester, you can volunteer to go on student- and faculty-led mission trips to Europe, Africa, Asia and open your eyes to the beauty of culture and the power of the gospel. If local missions is your focus, our student body partners with local ministries to organize community outreaches.

Musicians, actors and comedians will find an outlet for their creative passions in one of Southeastern's many music, stage, or comedy acts. If performing isn't your talent, then our thriving performing arts scene will offer you plenty chances to be entertained.

Our dozens of student groups will give you the chance to join with others who share your interests. Habitat for Humanity offers students who want to get their hands dirty the chance to work with local construction groups to build homes for lower-income families. Politically-minded students can find a forum for ideas and discussion at College Republicans. Poets can publish their work in The Oracle, a student-led literary magazine published each spring. Our popular intramural leagues give athletes plenty of chances to compete in basketball, volleyball, flag football, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, and dodge ball.

First Year Experience. Chapel services. Mission trips and local ministry projects. Student groups and intramurals. Your Southeastern student life experience will combine academics, relationships, and spirituality with a Christ-centered approach.
