Southeastern University 7th Annual Gala Features Roast of Mayor Anthony Williams, Includes Democratic Nominee for Mayor Adrian Fenty, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, George Washington University President Stephen Trachtenberg, the Honorable Joshua Bolten and Tom Sherwood, NBC 4 Broadcast Reporter Southeastern University, the 127 year-old Washington, DC academic institution, will hold its 7th Annual Gala on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.. Mayor Anthony Williams will be the guest of honor as local celebrities, politicians and community leaders have good natured fun at the Mayor's expense. Featured speakers will include Democratic Nominee for Mayor Adrian Fenty, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Council members David Catania and Jack Evans, George Washington University President, Stephen Trachtenberg, the Honorable Joshua Bolten and Emmy Award Winning Actor, Jeffrey Wright, who appeared in the critically acclaimed movie Syriana and numerous other Hollywood films including Lady in the Water, currently in theatres. The Gala is the largest fundraising activity for the University, which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to support student programs, scholarships and activities. WHAT: The Seventh Annual Gala of Southeastern University featuring Mayor Anthony Williams. Tom Sherwood, broadcast journalist with News Channel 4 will be MC for the evening.
