Certificate in Nonprofit Management
The Certificate in Nonprofit Management is a fifteen credit hour, for- credit program. The entire program is to be completed within one year. The program is included in the academic curricula as a non- degree program. Each class is three credits. The cost of each credit is $255. Interested students must submit a Southeastern University undergraduate application. University fees do apply. Course Descriptions
NPMP 540: This course will focus on the unique structure of nonprofits, the theories and concepts of nonprofit administration and management.
NPMP 541: This course provides the theoretical framework for human resources management in nonprofit organizations, including the effective use of human resources to achieve organization goals within ethical and legal boundaries. The course will also focus on volunteers in nonprofit management.
NPMP 544: This course provides an introduction into the legal and ethical issues facing nonprofits, and framework of nonprofit organizations and examines the laws relating to incorporation, tax status, and how nonprofits influence the legislative and judicial branches of government and ethical issues faced by management.
NPMP 545: This course includes accounting, budgeting, financial planning, tax issues, internal and external reporting requirements and technology for financial management in the nonprofit sector.
NPMP 547: Leadership theories and how they impact organizational change will be the focus of this course. Students will learn to apply leadership theories in the management of the nonprofit organizational environment. |
