Access to the capital, procurement and e-Commerce were common themes at the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's (USHCC) 11th Annual Legislative Forum & Banquet. This event was held March 19-20 in the nation's capital. Those in attendance were influential Hispanic entrepreneurs, corporate business leaders, and elected and Cabinet officials. Each year at the Forum, the most current and critical legislative issues affecting Hispanic businesses are addressed. The USHCC also presents its Legislative Plan to Congress and to the President's Administration. "We, as Hispanics and as Hispanic business owners, must push for corporate America and Congress to develop policies that promote the success and equality of Hispanic businesses in the U.S." said Elizabeth Lisboa-Farrow, Board Chair, USHCC. The USHCC addresses the concerns in its Legislative Plan. The Plan is a blueprint with recommendations for the legislative work the organization will undertake on behalf of the Hispanic business community. The legislative priorities include:

Mrs. Lisboa-Farrow became SEU's Chair of the Board of Trustees in 1997. She was elected to chair the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2000 (the first woman to hold the position).
