Advising Tips
TIP# 1: Utilize the SEU Catalog!
The Catalog can help you with understanding academic policy, individual course and academic program descriptions, detailed course descriptions, and much more.
TIP# 2: Schedule an advisement appointment prior to registration.
Your advisor can help you avoid potential registration problems by identifying holds or other requirements, put together a schedule that suits your strengths and weaknesses, and interpret core curriculum requirements. Visit your advisors before registration periods and be proactive with completing your degree requirements.
TIP# 3: Schedule an appointment with your advisor any time you have an academic concern.
Advisors at SEU are available to help you navigate your way through your college career. They can help you with choosing classes, choosing a major, or directing you to the proper resource on campus that fits your needs. Don't wait!
TIP# 4: Get to know your Department Chairs and Coordinators
Department Chairs are in charge of managing the direction of SEU's academic programs. There are also Coordinators within each academic department who assist Department Chairs with academic program administration.
