On October 17th, Southeastern University held its 8th Annual gala, "As the District Turns: A Humorous Spin on the City We Love," at the Hilton Washington Hotel. The gala was a wonderful evening of humor and reflection. Emcee Tom Sherwood of NBC4 again led us through a hilarious evening of local celebrities and politicians in skits and songs that celebrated the things we love-and some we don't!-about our hometown, the District of Columbia.
With the help of hundreds of sponsors, this event raised nearly $600,000 to support student-centered needs at the University, and 850 people were in attendance to learn about The Campaign for Southeastern University and the renovation of our building to benefit our students and the Southwest community.
