Biography
Before coming to work for Southeastern, Dr. Lenny Giammatteo accumulated 21 years of experience in the Florida public school system serving as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. He was named Polk County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year and has received student-initiated recognition from Who's Who Among American Teachers & Educators and Empire's Who's Who Among Executives & Professionals. Dr. Giammatteo has taught college courses at Florida Southern College, Tampa College, Polk Community College, and Webster University.

"Dr. G," as he is known around campus, has specialized training in Kagan Cooperative Learning Strategies and Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and he has presented a paper at the Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honorary Conference. He has also done graduate studies in School Guidance & Counseling (PK-12) at Liberty University, and, more recently, has earned a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching from the University of South Florida.

Dr. Giammateo teaches the following courses: Classroom Management, Teaching Principles & Practices, Science Technology, Teaching Elementary School Social Studies, Curriculum Design for Elementary School, Sport Psychology, Business Ethics, Psychology of Adjustment, Principles & Practices of Effective College Teaching, and Methods of Teaching Middle & Secondary Biology, English and Social Studies. He has research interests in human growth and development, mental skills in sports, school leadership, college pedagogy, and the building of successful classroom learning communities.
