Biography
Before coming to Southeastern in 2007, Dr. Roth served in a wide range of positions throughout 17 years of experience in Christian education, including as a teacher, coach, athletics director, principal, business manager, superintendent, Colorado State Representative to the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and a graduate assistant in the ORU School of Education.
In 2009, Dr. Roth was named the first Associate Dean of the College of Education and in 2011 he assumed the role of Dean. In addition to his Southeastern duties, Dr. Roth currently serves as the higher education representative on the Florida ACSI Regional Council.
Dr. Roth's passion is to see a biblical worldview restored to the public and private classrooms of America at all levels: pre-school, elementary, secondary, and post-secondary. He believes this restoration will emerge through servant-leaders committed to the cause of Christ in all educational arenas, a purpose consistent with Southeastern's mission.
Prior to his days as Dean, Dr. Roth taught many of the foundational courses in the teacher education program, including Educational Psychology, Introduction to Education, and Classroom Management. He also developed and often teaches the undergraduate-level Faith Integration in Education course. He developed and taught the graduate-level Educational Leadership course and designed several of SEU's graduate-level courses. His research interests are leadership, single-gender education, student retention, brain research, school finance, vouchers, educational systems, and global demographics.
