Students who live on campus have an endless number of activities and recreational opportunities available. Whether you want to stay in shape in our fitness center, cool off in our aquatics center, relax in a hammock or cheer with friends at one of our exciting Fire athletic events, there is always something happening at SEU.
Our expanded fitness center features a mix of free weights and machines designed not only to keep our Fire student-athletes in top condition but also to encourage the entire campus community to stay in shape and exercise. The Student Activities Center also offers a basketball court, and there are intramural fields that can be used for games of frisbee, football and more.
It gets pretty warm in Florida, but our on-campus pool and whirlpool can help you keep cool and provide a fun spot for friends to hang out. The pool is open each day, typically for an early-morning swim time and then throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
The fire pits in the Aventura and Destino/Esperanza courtyards serve as a fun gathering spot to keep warm during the winter or even to make some s’mores. You can also relax in the hammocks located in the Destino/Esperanza courtyard, which hang in the shade between the many palm trees next to our full-sized sand volleyball court.
Our athletic programs compete every year for conference and national championships, and fan support is one of the big reasons we continue to excel. From indoor events such as basketball and volleyball to outdoor sports like baseball and soccer, there are always games on the calendar. And in 2014, we’ll play our first home football game in our new on-campus stadium!
We don’t just celebrate during Homecoming, Welcome Week and other special times during the year. We also have frequent and random events such as block parties, performing arts events, off-campus trips and more. The Student Experience team at SEU works hard to plan numerous events throughout the year to keep students connected and having a good time.
