Our campus is such an exciting place to live and learn because of our student leaders who make so much happen. Sure, we have staff and faculty who chip in quite a bit, but our student leaders are the key to life at SEU.
We’re looking for exceptional students called to lead who can step up and continue this tradition. If you’re looking to plug in and serve the campus community, these areas could use your help.
Student Body Leadership Council
This “legislative body” of students on campus includes our student body president and other leaders who plan multiple campus events and work to enact changes for the benefit of students. Past initiatives have led to changes in the dress code, student handbook, and other areas of campus life.
Our team of resident directors and resident assistants work to ensure that life in our residence halls runs smoothly. They take care of room checks, enforce community standards, and help to lead periodic dorm chapels. Serving in Res Life creates opportunities to help other students when they need it most.
Whether you want to help lead worship, coordinate chapel services, or plan mission trips, this team of servant leaders will give you the chance to empower God’s people to do His work.
Students who are gifted in design, writing, marketing, etc., can serve here to work on projects and publications that enrich campus life. You’ll put together newsletters, create graphics for events and organizations, and serve an instrumental role in keeping the SEU community on the same page.
Many of our upperclassmen or local students live off campus and drive to class every day. To help keep them connected to campus life, this team plans events and looks for opportunities to bring commuter students together with others to keep us all as one big family.
First Year Experience
We want new students to feel a part of our community from their first day on campus, and FYE is designed to facilitate that process. Student leaders help to lead small groups with new students, which include scripture reading and discipleship, and there are also events throughout the year that are geared toward first-year students.
