MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dr. Samuel Hemby My heart goes out to all those affected by the recent announcement that Bethany University will be closing its doors. This includes the faculty, staff, alumni, and especially you, the current student body.

Southeastern University's desire is to assist Bethany students during this challenging time. I want to assure you that we are committed to offering the same high-quality education and Christian community to which you have grown accustomed at Bethany. There are many obstacles that may arise in the coming weeks related to continuing your college career, and we at Southeastern want to do everything we can to help take those obstacles away, whether they be academic, financial, or otherwise. We stand ready to serve you.

Though we may not be able to change circumstances and challenges, we can commit to walking side-by-side with you through them. I believe, by the grace of God, the outcome of the challenges we face will be brighter than we ever imagined. I pray that you find wisdom and guidance during these times, and know that we are here to help in any way we can.

- Dr. Kent Ingle, President

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

WHAT ASSISTANCE IS SOUTHEASTERN OFFERING?
There are several things we are willing to do to help Bethany students interested in continuing their education at Southeastern. The university will provide a $1,000 grant to offset travel costs; Bethany transfers will receive a 10 percent discount on their room and board for the 2011-2012 academic year; you will not have to pay our $40 application fee; and your total net price will not exceed what you were paying at Bethany.

WILL I LOSE MY CAL STATE GRANT?
Southeastern will match the amount of aid you received from the California grant program.

WILL MY MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS BE CONSIDERED?
Merit awards, such as academic scholarships, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Our athletic scholarship funds have already been disbursed for the 2011-2012 school year, but you will be able to try out for our teams during the year for the next recruiting cycle.

WHAT ABOUT MY FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID?
You should have already completed a FAFSA form for Bethany University. In order for your federal aid to transfer to Southeastern, you will need to log in to the FAFSA website (www.fafsa.ed.gov) and update your form with the Southeastern school code. Our code is 001521.

WILL MY CREDITS TRANSFER?
Yes, all of your course credits from Bethany will transfer over and count toward your degree at Southeastern.

HOW DO I APPLY?
The easiest way to submit your application is to complete our online form. Simply follow this link http://www.seu.edu/forms/apply_now.php, and follow the steps for undergraduate programs.

WHAT DEGREE PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE?
Southeastern has more than 40 undergraduate degree programs to offer students. From ministry to business to communications to music, we can prepare you for almost any career you can imagine. Our faculty members have spent decades working in their fields. All of the knowledge and wisdom they gained from their careers is at your disposal, presented through the Christian worldview that all our faculty members share.
