In 2009, Professor Sandra Roth began teaching as an adjunct professor in the College of Education and moved into a full-time assistant professor position in the fall of 2010. Certified in elementary education by the Association of Christian Schools International, she has over 20 years of experience as an elementary and secondary teacher and elementary school assistant principal. Her teaching and administrative experience spans four states: North Carolina, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Florida.
At Southeastern, Professor Roth teaches Introduction to Education, Educational Psychology, Field Study I, and Faith Integration for Education. In the spring of 2011, she received both the Polk County Educator of the Year Award from Junior Achievement and the Excellency in Information Literacy Award from SEU.
In addition, she is an experienced presenter for both ACSI and FLOCS regional teacher conventions in Colorado and Florida, the ACSI International Convention in South Carolina, and the AG Alliance Conference in Missouri. Seminar topics include information processing, curriculum enhancement, time management, and faith integration.
Finally, she serves as a guest speaker for various Kappa Delta Pi events and special chapel services at SEU, and facilitates a Connect mentoring group. In the community, she is currently preparing to co-teach a newly/nearly married Sunday school class at Victory Church with her husband of 31 years, Dr. Doug Roth. She also has a grown son, Micah, and two sons with the Lord.
