In 2013, Professor Dominic Stross moved into a full-time assistant professor position after teaching several years in the sport management program as an adjunct professor. Originally coming to Southeastern to coach soccer, he spent nine years on the sidelines for the women’s soccer team. He retired from coaching with an overall record of 106–51–5. In 2011, Professor Stross received the NAIA Sun Conference Coach of Character Award, and in 2008, he was honored by the NSCAA as the National Coach of the Year.
In addition to coaching, Professor Stross has experience managing fitness centers and training athletes. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His trainees have gone on to play at the college and professional levels.
Professor Stross teaches classes in the sport management major and the physical education and coaching concentrations. He is developing the program for the new exercise science major, anticipated to begin in fall 2015.
Professor Stross is currently working on a PhD in sport management through Concordia University in Chicago.
